Your Gadgetry Has All Been Crammed Into Your Phone
Mobile (cell) phone technology has been accelerating at a rate of knots every since the first one hit the markets. When mobile phones first hit the market they required a trolley to carry around only had buttons 1-9.These days, phones are a different beast altogether. You can download videos to watch on your phone, get real-time news fed into it and even use it as a satellite navigation device. The mobile phone is not stopping there however, many believe that it will continue to have more technology incorporated into it and will soon be the only gadget people will need.
John Moore, head of Advanced Technology at Cambridge University had outlined his vision for the future. “ I predict that very soon all the requirements of the modern way of life will be served by phones…technology is getting smaller thanks to things like mini Deutsch connectors and people are becoming ever more mobile, so it make sense that people want to carry their life in their pocket”.
Modern phones have highly-functional MP3 players built in, and you can now store more songs than you could possible ever listen to. The cameras in phones now are catching up normal digital cameras, and can offer mega pixel specs of up to 10.0, have a whole host of different shooting functions and again, can easily store whole photo albums. Internet browsing has been made very easy on the latest phones, and many websites have started creating ‘phone-friendly’ versions of their sites in response to the growth in phone browsing.
Some critics have suggested that people will not want to give up the luxury of having large viewing screens like they do on their PCs, or TVs. However, Nokia have recently released a phone with an incorporated projector built in that can provide a screen size of up to 50 inches. It seems like it’s out with home entertainment units and cable ties, and in with nana processers and micro circuit breakers, powering some of the most power bits of kit the world has ever seen.
