You actually do not need any kind of experience to do it yourself economically and make your room look grand with any of the following quick decorative wall painting methods.

Before painting your room, pick out a color scheme for your walls. When you chose your paint, remember that many painting techniques use two shades of one color. If the one you are choosing uses two shades as well, pick your base color darker than usual, as your top coat which is a lighter color will make your base coat light as well.

To sponge or rag a wall, paint the base color first and let it dry fully. After that, wet your sponge or rag with the lighter shade and sponge or drag it over the base coat until you are contended. Keep repeating the procedure until the entire wall is done.

If you are thinking about using a more advanced decorative painting technique such as stenciling or stamping, you may just want to create a wallpaper effect bystamping or stenciling a simple design over your base coat. Also if you wish to go further with this and use stencils or stamps to create a faux brick or stone wall do the following. To start with, paint the color of your choice for the mortar between the bricks or stones. Immediately after the base coat is dry, stamp or stencil your bricks or stones over the base coat. Once the brick or stonework is dry, sprinkle little darker color over your faux art as it makes it look more realistic by giving it the dept factor.Creating faux effects like giving the look to your wall like it’s made off plaster or suede makes the room unique from the others. Some paint bases give the look of suede or textured effect naturally, which a method even artists use these days.
