How To Tell if Your Sneaker Fits
Now that the summer months are approaching many people are planning to be more active in physical activities like softball, biking, jogging, tennis etc. and one of the most important aspects of not getting injured during these physical activities is knowing how to choose a sneaker that fits correctly. For every job you need the right tool to get it done and when it comes to being active the tool is your sneakers. Consider the following advice on how to choose a properly fitting sneaker.
Usually the first step when trying on shoes is to decide if there is enough space at the front of the shoe for the toes. It is an important step that many people are unsure about - Here’s how to check for the appropriate amount of space at the front of the shoe: The distance between your longest toe and the front of the shoe should be approximately the size of your thumb.
After you have checked the front of the sneaker for toe space you can move on to the heel. A good tip is that your heel should not slide up or down while you walk. The heel should stay stationary.
The same tip for you heel is used when considering the sides of your running shoes. The widest portion of your foot should not bend. That area should be snug enough to stay in place while jogging but not so tight that it becomes annoyingly uncomfortable.
The other tip to consider when looking for that perfect sneaker is to check the top of the shoe. The piece that encloses the top of your foot in the shoe should not be too snug but should also be tight enough to keep the tongue of the shoe in place without bothering your feet - No one appreciates that sense of discomfort we get from shoes that fit poorly.
If the shoes are not for games then the fit is not a huge concern. If the use of the shoes are for running or competitive games then you need to make sure they fit properly. Don’t forget to ensure that the selected shoe fits in the toe, the heel, across the top of the foot and the width of the foot. If you go along with the advice given you will find a runner that is excellent for exercise and daily physical activities.
